why is nothing selling on my website?

I recently started an online jewelry and homemade gifts website but nothing has sold yet. There’s only earrings so far. I’ve had about 500 page views so I know people have seen the website.

I looked at your website and was quite alarmed when I saw four to five weeks for shipping. That is a lifetime in retail. If you don’t have same day shipping or next business day shipping your business will die quickly. Secondly, you are obviously using cheap materials. Another, big mistake. You are not marketing to a variety of price points. Basically, if anything you are trying to sell to a Walmart type customer who can go get the stuff made from China for much cheaper. I would recommend you explore a higher end line and maybe try to have some cheap products but also maybe a few pieces to market to a sophisticated upscale buyer with disposable income. Try marketing the pieces as one of a kind or limited edition. Make a specific number of pieces then stop production. This is what high end handbag designers do like dior. They make a few hundred or thousand of a particular piece to drive up demand. Get rid of the rose earrings they are not appropriate for adults and would not look right on a child. The best thing you could do right now is really research the market. Go shopping, keeping tabs on the trends. I can tell you this your products would not sell in my area of the country (Central Florida) because the average woman here wants high quality, good prices, and trendy earrings.
