Safety Decals

About

The CLEST Safety Decal is the most effective reporting system for teen driving. The decal provides the ability for drivers to report situations as they occur directly to the parent, or owner of vehicle.

Example

"Sue comes home on a Friday afternoon worried about her son learning to drive. She thinks, "What could happen to my Sam as he drives home from school, he's only 16! Can I trust him to pick up his sister who's only 12?" Sue sees the CLEST bumper sticker and decides to place it on Sam's car just in case - plus she feels better next Friday. Then unexpectedly on Saturday she receives a phone call from someone alerting her that Sam was attempting to street race with friends. She calls Sam and asks him to come home. He arrives and she is able to discuss with him the importance of safe driving and then gives him a big hug!"

Why Safety Decals Help

Situations that can be avoided and/or communicated to parents:

  1. Text messaging while driving
  2. Poor or inattentive driving
  3. Hazardous driving
  4. Speeding
  5. Broken down or stuck vehicle
  6. Missing child
  7. Driving after GDL hours
  8. Too many passengers

Other drivers will be able to call our 1-800 numbers to report these situations and parents can choose to have them sent via:

  1. Phone call - Parents may choose up to two primary phone numbers to receive notifications. If the parent does not answer it will be forwarded to their email inbox with an audio recording.
  2. Text Message - A text message will be sent to the parents phone, with a link or attachment to the audio file.
  3. Email - an email address may be used to receive these alerts, the audio file will also be attached for easy playback.
