I have a question about Fondant…?

My boyfriend is coming home in a week and he wanted me to make him a really awesome cake for his birthday. He’s 23 but he wanted a Dragon Ball Z cake. I’ve used fondant a few times before and know how to use it, but I have never had to do this much work on one cake before. I figured I could start making the fondant figures for the cake now, so I’ll have time next weekend to put the whole thing together…my question was how do I store the fondant people until I am ready to put them on the cake? Some people say freeze them, but then the sweat beads when they defrost will ruin them…is the fridge ok? Or just a sealed storage container? Thanks for your help!

Store them in a box. Not an airtight container, not in the freezer, not in a ziplock bag (unless they’re already dried). Just a box, so that they can harden and keep their shape on the cake.
