What is a good graphics software program that I can use to convert my art into a uniform dot design?

For a craft project involving beads and rhinestones I have I need to take my original art work and then I need a software that can generate 2mm dots on the design. I need to do this to use it as a pattern. There are companies that will make the pattern for me then create my project in bulk. The problem is it is hard to convey my idea and I don’t need bulk. I have multiple designs that I don’t want made bulk. Someone suggested core draw but I am not sure how I would use it to generate the dot pattern

well, 2mm spacing is gonna be hard and I don’t know a program that will do that per se, but you can use photoshop if you want to generate the dots using the filter > Sketch > Halftone option. It gives you the ability to change the size of the dot, but its arbitrary scale rather then actual size. An option would be to generate your halftone image and play with the dot size and the DPI (in Image > Image Size > Resolution) then print a test copy to measure against your bead (larger resolution = smallar image).

Other than this I’m not sure if there’s a program that will do exactly what you want, but maybe one of the other members knows.
