Decorating the faceplates that go over light switches?
I had instructions on different ways to decorate the plates that go over light switches on the wall but I lost them. Some involved beads and some involved pieces of fabric, etc. Does anyone know where I can find instructions on how to do this? Thanks!
I don’t have a link to any instructions, but it should be quite simple to do. Use the switch plate as a pattern when cutting out the fabric of your choice and cut it just a bit larger all around so there is enough to tuck around the edges and fold in behind. Cut a slit at the corners so the fabric will fold neatly and glue in place. Cut the opening for the toggle before gluing. I would have a tendency to use a spray adhesive rather than a craft glue so the glue doesn’t soak through. After it has dried, I would spray it with a coat of clear acrylic to help keep it clean and make it easier when it does soil to wipe with a damp cloth. As far as decorating with beads, just artistically glue them onto a plain fabric that has already been applied as above for better contact and then again, spray with a clear coat to ensure they stay in place.
