Beading Needle Sizes

when beading with seed beads what’s the smallest size needle?
I see size #10, #13 etc. but i’m not sure which way it goes, bigger to smaller, or smaller to bigger.
Basic answer:
The larger the number the thinner the needle.
But there are also variations in the length of needles, depending on the purpose of the needle. The number size for one type is not the same thickness of another type of needle
I primarily bead to embellish fabric, so I prefer a 24 tapestry needle and a 13 beading needle. Both of which will go thru a seed bead, and are appx the same thickness.
