Beading Needle Size 16

What size would my piercing be/help?
Hi, I have a upper cartilage piercing I got about 1 – 1 1/2 years ago, and since I was new to everything I got it pierced with a gun, which I know is the worst possible thing because it could of shattered my cartilage, but luckily it’s still there and it’s fine.
My question is, what size would it be? It’s the same piercing gun as if you got your lobes pierced.
I think it’s an 18, but I’m not sure.
I have 2 other piercings in my cartilage, which are both 16′s and I know for a fact that they are not any bigger than them.
If pictures are randomly needed for some reason, let me know.
Also, would it be a good idea to get it re-pierced with a needle?
If so, how would I go about doing that?
I would prefer not to let it close up haha but worst come to worst I can I guess.
I want to put a new piece of permanent jewelry in it, such as a captive bead ring, so.
Any help is highly appreciated!!
Thanks. ♥
Most gunned piercings are 20g, but sometimes they’re 18g.
If you want to get re-pierced with a needle, go see a piercer. If you want it in the same spot, you’ll need to let your piercing close up and then re-pierce through the scar tissue. Captive bead rings come as small as 18g, so you may just need to stretch your piercing (if its 20g) slightly to get an 18g CBR in.
