Beading Knotting Technique

How can I learn to weave tapestries? Books/websites/ tools needed for this?
I’m definitely a novice weaver, but I’m already adept with creating my own patterns for beadwork (I’m also interested in the idea of weaving beads into tapestries), and I’m good at basic “knotting” techniques.
For the very little time that I’ve invested in my training, I’m probably already at an advanced level & I’d like to move on now to my dream artform- weaving intricate designs, like those in tapestries.
What materials and tools do I need in order to begin to learn the art of tapestry weaving? Of course, I’d start with something the size of a handkerchief.. I’ve done some web searches, but unless I’m just not using the right keywords, I haven’t been finding any explicitly detailed sites on the subject.

about.com has basic info on a lot of different crafts. I go there for knitting stuff. It will probably point you to some good sites.
