What if you could not go to church or have the fellowship of Christians?
Okay, another “what-if” question.
You wake up to find yourself in a remote area so far away from civilization that you don’t even know what direction to walk in to find anybody.
Someone has left you all the essentials of life in a little cabin, food, clothing, nearby water, but no Bible, no television, no radio, no cell phone, no books, no computer.
All you have is a string of prayer beads and all the time in the world.
Do you start praying, counting the beads, and attempt to get closer to God?
Actually, we are already kidnapped and imprisoned by our own minds and petty awareness. But most of us want to be imprisoned in our own familiar spaces rather than be imprisoned by others, unwillingly. The truth is, if God were to imprison us in Heaven we would try to escape. Only when we realize within our own selves/being that that is where we really want to be and we go there of our own choice does Heaven reveal Her treasures of Peace, Joy, Contentment and Fullness of Being. Till we realize it for ourselves it is no more than a burden to our ego/mind/self.
I have always sought out this scenario in my life and even now I am on my way to this prison of aloneness and isolation again, with joy.
