Should I have the beading removed from my wedding dress?
Hello – I am new to this, have not even created an avatar – haha! I need some advice on my wedding dress – I am barely over 5 feet tall, 104 pounds. Had a terrible time finding a dress that fit or could be properly altered. The one I decided on is very simple and I like it very much – the problem is that it has a wide row of beading that hits me at my knees (the dress was made for a 5’8″ model and is going to be hemmed A LOT!). The beading is so pretty but the row of it looks like I am being cut off at the knees, I just do not think it is very flattering for a shorter person.
I want the seamstress to remove the beading, my mother wants the beading to stay because she thinks is so pretty and would be a shame to “waste”. I asked my mother if she would sew some of the beads removed from the dress onto my veil. She seemed to like this idea but is pressuring me to leave the beading.
