Be Yourself With A Unique Bridal Gown

Far too many a bride goes into bridal gown shopping with a fixed idea in her head of the wedding gown she wants. While it is helpful to know your own style of course, limiting yourself to the “safe” dress options can also result in a rather dull bridal ensemble. A wedding is a great time to break of a rut, push the limits of your comfort zone, and aim for spectacular over safe. Take a chance with a bold wedding gown that will make you look and feel more fabulous than you ever thought possible.
Some women are crazy for fashion, drama, and exciting style, and they are likely to explore a wide range of options when shopping for a wedding gown. There are many other women, however, who are not really into clothes, who have never felt gorgeous, or are self-conscious about their figures. Those are the women who might get stuck trying the same gown style repeatedly, then are left wondering why the gowns don’t feel like “the dress.”. It’s commonplace to wear a “uniform” of the same few basics in your daily life, but taking that approach to gown shopping could keep you from finding a spectacular gown that takes your breath away.
Curvy brides often think they need to hide their shape under a full skirt or an Empire waistline to hide their tummies. How wrong they are!! Take a chance, curvy brides, and try on a strapless gown with a drop waist which is fitted throughout your body. Consider a gown with a slender skirt that enhances your curvy figure instead of hiding it. I once saw a bride try on a strapless gown with a ruched lace drop waist bodice and tiny pearls (to match her pearl earrings) and a bias cut skirt in a heavy satin. She looked amazing, and her waist looked so thin she could’ve been wearing a corset (but she wasn’t!). Did she take advantage of this beautiful dress? Sadly, no; she hid her body under a “safe” tank dress with an A-line skirt. It was lovely, but not stunning nor memorable, like the tailored gown.. This bride shows that self-consciousness can keep you from looking as gorgeous as you truly are.
Then there are brides with duller tastes. “I want a plain gown”, they will state, “Nothing too fancy”. First of all, it is virtually impossible for a bride to be overdressed for her own wedding! If feel like you can’t get all dressed to the nines in a fabulous gown and gorgeous pair of pearl earrings for your wedding day, the chances are that you will never feel like you can in your whole life. Don’t be scared to experiement with embellishments and details, even if it goes against your usual style. Break out of your shell and surprise your family with a fabulously detailed gown. I knew one bride who wore jeans and a button down shirt every day, she had no interest in fashion. She decided to break out of her “plain Jane” image for her wedding by choosing a silk satin gown with a pearl beaded lace bodice. It was amazing on her, and the guests were stunned when they saw how gorgeous and romantic this young woman could be.
Avant-garde and bold wedding gowns can be the most beautiful, if brides will try out something out of the ordinary. If your style runs towards simple and classic, be bold and try a bridal gown with an asymmetrical bodice – it might just blow you away! If you only ever imagined yourself in a pure white gown, try on the pink satin bridal gown you admired in the magazine– it might be the dress of your dreams. By the way, the same goes for bridal accessories. Trade in your everyday pearl stud earrings for a dramatic pair of pearl chandelier earrings or try on a long crystal lariat necklace. If you take a chance and are bold with your bridal attire, you might find a new daring, beautiful side of yourself!
