How to make a Native American/Indian Costume for your horse?

I am entering a horse show and it had a Halloween contest with you and your horse. I know what I am going to wear, but i don’t know what I am going to do for him. I was thinking of using beads, feathers and paint. (paint that is for horses)

my aunt dressed up as that w/ her horse and put feathers in the horses mane, put special designs on the body w/ horse paint, and weaved in a neutral color cloth braided into the tail
